UCB Guild of Students is ran for students, by students. We care about what you have to say and we are here to represent you.
We've launched our online ideas forum!
The ideas forum is a place for you to submit your ideas and have other students up and down vote them. We want to hear what's important to you and what you want to change at UCB or within the wider community.
We want to take action.
It depends on the idea, as to what our next steps will be. If your idea is easy to implement and we have the power to do it - we'll do it. If your idea requires more discussion, we might send it to our Executive Committee. Find out more about the Executive Committee here.
If we're not sure and know lots of students may have feedback on an idea, we'll take it to a referendum.
If your idea is something that we don't have control over but the University or a local organisation does. We will lobby on your behalf to try and make change for you.
How do I submit an idea?
Step 1: Click the New Idea button
Step 2: Give your idea a title and write a description
Students will use the description you've given to give your idea a thumbs up or thumbs down. Make sure the information that you provide about your idea is concise and easy to understand.
Step 3: Decide which area your idea fits in.
We've created 7 areas across all aspects of student life. This will help us decide who should look at your idea after students have voted for it. These are:
- Academic Support
- Accommodation and Housing
- Employability and Placement
- Guild of Students
- Teaching and Assessment
- Wellbeing and Safety
Step 4: Wait for Approval
Once your idea has been submitted, it will need to be approved by one of our administrators. You will get an e-mail notification to let you know your idea is awaiting approval.
Step 5: Share & Promote
Once your idea is approved, you'll receive an e-mail notification to let you know. Now you can share this with your friends and classmates and encourage them to vote.
How do I vote on an idea?
Voting is easy. All you have to do is click on the icons next to an idea to give it a thumbs up or a thumbs down.
