We're incredibly excited to share that the UCB Guild Disabled Students' Society has won the 'The Committee Excellence Award' at the 2021 National Societies and Volunteering Awards (NSVAs).

The awards panel we impressed with how the society has supported students throughout lockdown and has managed to become a part of the UCB community, despite setting up as a new society in the middle of a pandemic!

Their weekly events, guest speakers, and unique events have been ongoing throughout the year and the committee has balanced this support alongside their studies and own personal commitments.

"Established this year during lockdown, the society have established tons of brilliant initiatives including weekly drop ins and campaigns despite having never met in person" - NSVA Awards Committee

We'd like to say a huge well done to the society, and to all the students who have been a part of it. You can keep up to date with the society on their Instagram.

One last well done to all the different institutions, societies, and individuals nominated - it's fantastic to hear about so many stories of students changing the world and making a difference - especially in the year we've all had.

Your Guild of Students at University College Birmingham is run by students, for students! We're here to represent your academic interests, support clubs & societies and campaign for students!
